I’m thinking those guys are wishing they wouldn’t have pissed off that monster now.

Looks like someone needs to send Scrab to mimic obedience school. Great job on his looks and I have a feeling Farron and Scarb will have a few more great adventures under their belts in the future.
You can’t expect him to jump straight into the action without having a little snack first. Who knows how long it’s been since Farron last let him out to stretch.
Well Farron should carry treats or something with him, less collateral damage that way.
Does Farron look like the kind of rat to carry treats around with him? Or particularly care about collateral damage?
at least he’s scary and not just completely useless
So, are those moth eared tapirs or are the ears/antenna plant or feather based. I guess feathers would make more sense since the hind parts are more scaly… and, I must say,the mimic is an absolutely adorable gremlin like creature.
Traygens (kind of horse equivalents in this world) are indeed anteater-tapir esque inspired.. but the “feathers” on their heads are meant to be antennae.. they are kind of inspired by moths too ^_^; Similar to how the Staggles are like ox-stag-beetle things.
Scrab went through MANY designs.. originally just a mere hell-hound.. but took some more cat-dragon-wolf like design.
Looks like a gryphon without wings honestly.
Well I think he turned out great, just the right mix of scary and cute
those noses remind me of the Shoopuff
Heh, should there be a manual with these critters? =^^=
he’s kinda cute
Awwww he likes Sesame
Who wouldn’t?
I’m not sure if he’s petting her in panel 1 or just has his paw near her head. Either way, I understand her cute tail straightening.
I think he is petting her and saying “Hi cutie!”
and I thought it was the male who gets the stiffened appendage.
List of things I want (for myself, in real life) from this comic has increased (in no particular order):
1. An Uber
2. A mimic named Scrab
3. A little assistant robot named Proto
4. One of the female lead characters (I’m not picky)
Well, I know what you mean.
I wouldn’t mind meeting Proto and discussing certain ‘upgrades’.
As for the females…
I’d also like to be with each of them, but for different reasons according to which one we speak of.
Farron: “Attack those bastards behind us.”
Scrab: I’ll do what I want *gets shot with arrows and hit with magic*
Scrab: I want to attack those bastards behind us.
Farron doesn’t have enough gym badges for Scrab to listen to him. Plain and simple.
OMG, that’s seriously one of the best ideas I’ve seen in a while… my next D&D game has to have a bag of holding that is also a mimic that guards itself from anyone but the owner. Obedience issues optional, but that would certainly add a level of fun to it…
You do DnD, I’ll do Pathfinder.
I’ll also see about getting it into Traveller5
Damn.
Traveller5 was damn difficult.
Like decrypting a master-class code.
*Steam whistle* Okay, lunch time! X3
RUN AWAY!!!!
then again, perhaps if we were to build a large wooden badger….
Ok someone get some wood nails and assorted tools and lets do this.
Guys, call me crazy but everytime I see this mimic, his design kinda reminds me of Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon.
It’s crazy I know.
I get that impression in some panels. In others, the face shape changes.
Is it just me, or is the scary bag-monster-dragon-thingy aka Scrab cine of cute? And those mean guards attacking it for looking scary. Those bastards!
actually, the guards went from ‘scary’ to ‘scared’
you have made an….. unwise decision.
I like the design of the creature. it looks a lot like the way i envision a monster known as the Tailypo…..people familiar with the ghost story that features said beastie will probably know what I’m talking about
I wonder what kind of yard sale Farron had to go to to get such a nice….scrab bag? eh eh
Well, now we know that Merchant-class adventurers gain a Mimic Familiar, hopefully the quest isn’t too hard.
If it is a Mimic, it has probably been imprinted with some of Farron’s mannerisms. In this case, womanizing and slothfulness (no offense to sloths).
Love the way Sasame looks! Great job on the page
They say pets take on certain personalities of their masters.
What the heck do they feed mimics in UQland?
Oh its a mimic.
I think those guys are wanting some clean underwear to change into to. 😉
I love how Mason reacts when Scarab starts eating the caravan in the middle frame.
the mimic doesn’t look in raged to me. More like in heat. giving them guards a sultry look
awww the mimic bane of many an adventurer
Oh, it’s a mimic. And a hungry one at that. I thought those things were mainly disguised as chests.
Normally, you run across treasure, try to open it, and get attacked by the mimic chest instead.
You don’t just go out LOOKING for the mimic chest and take the thing home for self-defense purposes!
My god that Mimic is adorable.
I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before… Farron is a Packrat… :3
Yep! That’s where we got the idea to make him a rat XD originally he was gonna be a dog.
You’ve done us Rats proud, Ma’am.
Aha! so it is a mimic. Funny thing is, I mentioned it might be a mimic several pages ago
You mean everyone who’s said it since has been mimicking you? Even if they never saw your post?
Hey, found your comic this monday, and let me just say that, I love it! Can’t wait for more updates!
Thanks! I’m so glad you like it – we are working hard on the next page as I type 😀
So Skidd, from what I can tell you seem to be the only author on the Katbox to converse with Riiser at length… I can’t really think of a question to ask about that
